Night Tournament: Villa Park blasted Younsters by 103 runs to cement their place in finale

Qualifying for night semi after the break of 2 years Villa Park faced the energetic Youngsters. Villa Park won the toss and decided to bat first with out any hesitation. Subdued Bilal Ahmed (9) opened the innings along with night prince Zeyad Imtiaz (55), who is having another fabulous tournament. Both openers displayed very controlled and risk-free batting partnership to take the score to 32 in no time. As Bilal looking to open things up a little, he became first of the five victims of magnificent Urvish Desai (5). Next man Uzair Ali (2) failed to contribute with the bat as Perry took a comfortable catch at long on. New sensation Bashir Iqbal (65) joined the dangerous looking Zeyad at the crease. Both batsmen after settling down launched the mission obliteration, as ball started sailing outside the boundary on consistent basis. None of the bowler could skip the beating today, by the time Urvish got rid of Zeyad courtesy of a controversial catch at the boundary line, the score was already reached 139 runs. Youngsters did come back a little to take string of wickets to contain the score to manageable 179 in 20 overs.

Mujtaba (5) and Urvish (3) opened the innings against pace battery of Haris Imtiaz (2) and Ahmad Bakhshi (1), who gave Villa Park another solid start as top 3 batsmen were back in the pavilion at the score of 19 runs including the prize wicket of Manan Patel (9). Bashir Iqbal (1) continued the pressure exerted by the attackers, and was very well supported by all other bowlers. But the real star of the VPCC bowling show was Arif Hockla (4) who bowled a nagging line & length in the middle and took 4 crucial wickets. Youngsters were bundled out for mere 70 runs in 14.5 overs. Bashir Iqbal was awarded the player of the game award for his brilliant all-round performance.
