Villa Park rout Raptors to a 72 runs drubbing; Zeyad Imtiaz (27 runs & 4 wkts) nominated MOM |
On beautiful Sunday morning, Villa Park faced off with Raptors team, who once again this season failed to impress even with some notable players in their arsenal. VPCC won the toss and elected to bat. Sohail Rehmani (41) joined Mujtaba Baqir (45) to open the innings. Both players announced their intentions by belting the ball early to all parts of the park. Raptors bowlers failed to cause any trouble to hardcore VPCC batting. Sohail Rehmani especially made for his lack of opportunity this season by dispatching ball over the fence frequently but played one too many in the end and was caught & bowled to Manish Singh (1). Zeyad (27) stepped in next and flared away to quick 27 runs, but few wickets perish in the middle session to dent VPCC hopes of achieving mammoth total. But VPCC lower order rattle again this time by Mr. Consistent Fawad Agha (25) and Little Dynamite Arsalan Ali (28*), to take mediocre VPCC total from 149 for 6 to 210 for 7. This game changing partnership once again proved the batting depth of VPCC line-up. Raptors team had their work cut out for them, as chasing big total is never their strength; Haris Imtiaz (2) and Ahmed Bakhshi (1) confirmed that by rattling their top order quickly. Raptors was able muster some average partnerships in the middle but nothing really to threat the target. Zeyad Imtiaz (4) once again turned out to be the chief wrecker for opposition, very well supported by Haris Imtiaz and Furqan Qureshi (2). In the end Villa Park defeated Raptors comfortably by 73 runs. Zeyad Imtiaz once again declared man of the match for his magical performance. |
