Jameel Vohra’s unbeaten 106* (58) help chase down the target of 213; as new look Bright Future open their account with a win

Asked about Bright Future’s dull record of chasing big targets, Captain Arif Mahmood said in the pre-season meeting – “if that’s the perception, then we would like to change that”.. and so they did.

Jameel Vohra took the opportunity to remind everyone he is a class act, with 214 needed to win, by hitting an immaculate century for BFCC at Glendale Heights Ground 1.

Immediately after winning the toss, BFCC put Deccan Blues to bat first.  Mezan 31 (30) and Sohail 52 (41) provided a solid first wicket stand of 89.  Although losing wickets at regular intervals, Deccan Blues capitalized on the opening partnership and kept the run rate going.  Contributions from Fazal 35* (20) and Khalid 27 (22) ensured Deccan Blues finished on top.

Jameel smashed 2 fours and 10 sixes in a chanceless century to power Bright Future to chase down a handsome target of 214 in 27 Overs.  The highlight of Jameel’s inning was the ease with which he cleared the ropes.  BFCC lost Omer 14 (11) and Fahad 7 (7) in quick succession but Jameel while keeping the aggression played sensible knock with Zeeshan 19 (19) and Arif 25 (18) to ensure Bright Future a comfortable victory.
